FRACTIONAL LASERS PROMOTING FASTER RECOVERY
Ideal for treatment for issues such as acne scarring, sun damage, hyperpigmentation and wrinkles.
affectS just 15-20% of the surface in a pixelated manner, WITH NO DOWN TIME AND INFLAMMATION
Traditionally, ablative lasers have yielded the best results for skin resurfacing but require a much longer recovery time as the surface skin cells (i.e. epidermis) are vaporised. Fractional lasers are broken up into many smaller beams so that the treated area retains a portion of healthy skin that can promote faster recovery through the formation of new collagen. By combining the proven effectiveness of ablation with less down time afforded through the fractional method, the Pixel™ Pro can be used to treat acne scarring, sun damage, hyperpigmentation and wrinkles on the face, neck, chest, arms and hands.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING TREATMENT
Eye protection (e.g. opaque cover or goggles) will be provided. The laser tip will then be applied against the skin surface before activation and may cause some slight discomfort with the passing of each pulse. Topical anaesthesia in the form of a numbing cream is typically applied in advance. When the laser removes dead surface skin, it results in a “pop” sound. There will then be a mild, sunburn-like sensation that lasts for about an hour and no discomfort.
RESULTS TO EXPECT AND FURTHER TREATMENT
Compared to traditional lasers, the Pixel™ Pro results in less heat loss to surrounding tissues so results are more consistent and recovery time is shorter. Depending on the patient’s requirements, the laser’s settings will be adjusted accordingly and the corresponding downtime can vary between 1-7 days. New skin develops within 24 hours and old skin will be exfoliated naturally over the next few days. Optimal results typically require at least 3-5 treatment sessions every 1-4 weeks. Sun protection is strongly recommended throughout the course of treatment to minimise the risk of hyper- and hypopigmentation.
